Princess Eugenie’s Spectacular Wedding Jewellery

Let’s talk about THAT tiara…

What’s not to love about a royal wedding? The celebrity guests. The extravagant ceremony. The amazing fashion. It seems we can’t get enough of a good royal love story and last week’s celebrations certainly didn’t disappoint.

Princess Eugenie, daughter of the Queen’s son, Prince Andrew, married her long-term beau Jack Brooksbank in front of a staggering 850 guests at Windsor Castle.

The ceremony was beautiful, the dress inspired, and for the first time since Harry and Meghan’s impressive nuptials back in May, the country was collectively caught up in wedding fever.

But for us, it was Eugenie’s wedding jewellery that made the biggest splash. She walked down the aisle in a tiara fit for a literal queen, alongside some stunning and understated accessories.

We take a closer look at her impressive wedding jewellery collection, below.

The Tiara

Be still our beating heart. Princess Eugenie’s gorgeous emerald and diamond tiara may have looked like it came straight out of a fairy tale, but it was, in fact, a generous loan from her grandmother, the Queen.

Featuring rose-cut diamonds set in platinum, the central emerald weighs in at an astonishing 93.70 carats and is surrounded by six smaller stones. The tiara is 99 years old and was inherited by the Queen from her own mother’s jewellery collection.

The extravagant accessory is called the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara and was created by French designer Boucheron, in 1919, in the style of a traditional Russian headdress. We’re not sure our grandmothers have anything quite so impressive hiding at the back of their wardrobes!

The Rings

The simple gold band that Eugenie chose to receive on her wedding day, may be less extravagant than her headpiece but it is no less meaningful. The delicate ring was also a present from the Queen and is made from pure Welsh gold in line with a royal family tradition that extends back to the Queen Mother’s own wedding in 1923.

It will make an elegant contrast to her beautiful engagement ring which features a rare, blush-coloured padparadscha sapphire, encircled by diamonds in the shape of a flower.

The Earrings

Princess Eugenie’s earrings may not have made headline news, but they made for a perfectly understated match with her shining emerald tiara.

The diamond and emerald drop earrings were an early wedding gift from her husband, Jack Brooksbank, providing a sparkling contrast to her simple updo.

The delicate drop earrings seem to have been Eugenie’s ‘something new’ as well as a way to put her new husband at the heart of her wedding outfit.

Princess Eugenie was not the only one to wow us with her jewellery. Other guests amped up the glamour too, accessorising with statement jewellery and luxury watches.

The Duchess of Sussex stacked and layered the ethical jewellery brand Pippa Small for a striking look against the backdrop of her conservative Givenchy coat. The 18K gold bracelet, rings are set in 18K gold and feature luminous Herkimer Diamonds (a clear quartz stone found in America).

Prince William wore his OMEGA Seamaster Quartz 300m Mid-Size (similar model here) to the wedding. The classic blue timepiece complemented his patterned blue tie beautifully. The prince is often seen with this Seamaster on his wrist; it is very special to him as it was a gift from his late mother, Princess Diana.

Final Thoughts

Eugenie opted for a bare neckline to show off the elegant lines of her Peter Pilotto wedding gown and took a simpler approach to her accessories than many historic royal brides.

Her tiara, earrings, and wedding band were all she needed to pull off her stunning bridal look. We wish Eugenie and Jack all the best for their married life together and hope to get another peek into the royal jewellery collection soon!
