TAG Heuer is a Swiss watch brand which has made a name for itself by producing sporty, on-trend and avant-garde timepieces that convey a sensation of power while remaining affordable.

TAG Heuer has continually revolutionized watchmaking since its creation back in 1860 by the young Edouard Heuer, aged just 20 years old.

TAG patented its first chronograph in 1882, and the oscillating pinion (which allows the chronograph to function very efficiently) in 1887. The latter is still used today in mechanical chronographs by the major watchmakers.

If you’re interested in buying a TAG Heuer watch and are wondering how much they cost, here we’re going to cover the pricing of each collection by looking at the key models.

TAG Heuer Formula 1

TAG Heuer has a strong connection to the world of motorsport, and the TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection has a special place in the brand’s history. The F1 model was the first watch released following the acquisition of Heuer by Techniques d’Avant Garde (TAG) in 1986.

The advanced technology of the Formula 1 collection was inspired by the extreme performance of Formula 1 teams and is worn by champion drivers around the world, including Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button, and new sensation Max Verstappen.

Today the Formula 1 collection is one of the most popular TAG Heuer ranges. Below we’ve listed the key watches and their current prices.

TAG Heuer Carrera

The legendary Carrera owes its existence to Jack Heuer, the great-grandson of Edouard Heuer, who ran the company from 1962-1982.

The Carrera was launched in 1963 as a tribute to the exciting Carrera Panamericana Rally of the 50’s and rapidly became a best seller worldwide.

From the dangerous and deadly dirt tracks in Mexico to the glamorous racetracks of today, the Carrera’s racing history, bold aesthetic and precision engineering make it one of the most recognisable watches in all of horology.

Heuer Heritage Collection

The TAG Heuer Heritage collection celebrates iconic models from the past by reinterpreting them in a modern way.

The Heritage brand ambassadors include the late sporting greats Ayrton Senna, Steve McQueen, Juan-Manuel Fangio and Muhammad Ali.

Below we’ll look at the two key models in the collection and their prices.

TAG Heuer Monaco

The Monaco is one of TAG Heuer’s most iconic watches. Jack Heuer designed the watch in 1969, in honour of the Monaco Grand Prix. It was revolutionary for being the first square, water-resistant automatic chronograph in the history of Swiss watchmaking.

In 1971 the unique watch was catapulted into the spotlight worldwide when Steve McQueen personally chose to wear the watch in legendary 1971 film 'Le Mans'.

The 40th Anniversary re-edition with Calibre 11 is the contemporary Monaco that mostly resembles the original in 1969.

In 2015 TAG released the Monaco Calibre 11 Chronograph, which is considered an authentic re-edition of the 1969 Monaco 1133B, with only the case and pusher design differing from the famous original.

Heuer Autavia

The legendary Autavia was first released by Jack Heuer in 1962 and was the first chronograph wristwatch with a rotating bezel. Heuer came up with the name by combining the words automobile and aviation.

As is the case with all of Heuer’s chronographs, the identity of the Autavia is strongly linked to the world of racing – it was a model worn by the greatest Formula 1 drivers of the ‘60s and ‘70s, including Jo Siffert, Clay Regazzoni and Jochen Rindt.

Siffert was such a brand advocate, he bought Heuer watches at wholesale price and sold them to his fellow racers. He is known for helping to spread the love for the Autavia.

Modern yet faithful to its roots, the new generation Autavia, which was launched in 2017, channels the aura of the golden age of motor racing.

The new Autavia was born from the clever “Autavia Cup,” which allowed 50,000 fans to vote for their favourite vintage Autavia model to be reproduced. The winning choice was the “Rindt” watch, which Jochen Rindt famously sported in 1966.
